Amara found her love for dance at three years old when she started dancing competitively in Minnesota. She has been performing in numerous shows around the Minneapolis region since she was 10 years old. Amara started traveling at 14 around the U.S. to assist choreographers and train at numerous dance conventions including The Pulse On Tour and Intrigue Dance Convention. Through this, she was able to go on and assist Tyce Diorio for multiple group numbers for seasons nine and ten of So You Think You Can Dance. Amara's fondness for traveling and dance partners well with her desire to expand her knowledge of cultures around the world. Amara had the opportunity to travel and dance in Erica Sobol's show "Wallow: Then Run Boy Run" in Australia, the spring of 2013. She also danced in a Nickelodeon music video for Michael & Marisa. Furthering that, Amara performed alongside the Flock for Emma's winning 2014 Ace Awards piece, "Let Go or Be Dragged". Flock'dance performed this piece again at "Best of British" in London, where Amara also danced in a piece by Leroy Curwood. Amara loves being apart of the building process of other artists. She is extremely grateful to teach widely around the United States, and internationally including Australia, Mexico, and Italy. Amara will also be teaching at Intrigue Dance Convention as Guest Faculty. Amara balances school and dance, as she started college courses her junior year of high school. She plans to continue learning in every way she can. On the side of dancing, traveling, and teaching... Amara hopes to get her yoga license, and eventually a degree for wildlife conservation.
